Introduction

Streptococcus iniae can infect various wild or farmed fish, both in freshwater and marine environments. It can also infect ornamental fish such as zebrafish, pearl zebrafish, clown loaches, and African cichlids. Infected fish typically show clinical symptoms including unilateral or bilateral exophthalmos (protruding eyes), darkened body color, lethargy, slow swimming, eye congestion, corneal opacity, and a red, swollen anus. Hemorrhages may occur on the edges of the gill covers, at the bases of the pectoral fins, and on other parts of the body surface. In humans, Streptococcus iniae infection can lead to bacteremia, cellulitis, meningitis, and arthritis. Tilapia is the most common bacterial vector of Streptococcus iniae.

This kit is for Streptococcus iniae nucleic acid detection, based on the independently developed isothermal amplification fluorescence detection technology by GenDx. It can qualitatively detect Streptococcus iniae in the samples being tested. Through real-time amplification curves, it can quickly determine whether the sample contains Streptococcus iniae. It is widely applicable for detecting pathogenic microorganisms in aquatic products and food.
